Bulgaria is represented in the European Council by its Prime Minister. This role is currently filled by Andrey Gyurov in a caretaker position. He is an independent politician who works with the liberal Renew Europe group at the European level. Renew Europe currently holds seven of the 27 seats in the Council.
GERB is the dominant centre-right force and is part of the European People’s Party (EPP) of Ursula von der Leyen and Manfred Weber. The EPP also hosts SDS, with which GERB cooperates on the national level.
The “We Continue the Change” (PP)–“Democratic Bulgaria” (DB) multiparty alliance. Within this bloc, PP is generally associated with Renew Europe, while DSB and Yes DaB! are affiliated with the EPP, placing the alliance across two European political families.
The far-right nationalist party “Revival” (Vazrazhdane, or simply V) is aligned at the European level with the Europe of Sovereign Nations (ESN) group led by the Alternative for Germany.
The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), traditionally strong among ethnic Turkish-speaking and Muslim voters, is generally associated with the centrist space. The party had a significant split-off recently, producing APS. This part of the party contiuned to remain affiliated with Renew Europe.
The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) is affiliated with theParty of European Socialists (PES), placing it in the centre-left social-democratic family. It leads the BSP–OL multiparty list, which additionally hosts a range of fringe parties. The founder of Progressive Bulgaria (PB), former president Rumen Radev, was previously supported by BSP.
“There Is Such a People” (ITN) is affiliated with the national-conservative European Conservatives and Reformists Group (ECR) in the European Parliament.
Two far-right parties, “Morality, Unity, Honour” MECh and Velichie, are not affiliated with any European political party family. The Siyanie multiparty alliance includes Volt, which is linked to the Greens/EFA Group in the EU Parliament, runs on the same list, which is why we mark the list in the colour of that group.

Parallel Counts
A parallel count (often called a parallel vote tabulation (PVT) or quick count) is an independent method of gauging election results by constructing the vote count using data collected directly from polling stations. For instance, private actors (e.g., media organizations) may report preliminary results based on official counts as they are released by electoral authorities, sometimes before the full official results are published.
